Creating the Perfect Spring Wedding: Emily and Justin's Wedding Story

Last weekend, I had the privilege of photographing Emily and Justin's wedding, a day filled with unexpected spring showers and spontaneous moments of love. Despite the drizzle, their connection was electric, creating unforgettable scenes against the backdrop of Glasbern Inn's rustic charm.

We started the day at the Bridal suite, one of the classic rustic cabins on the venue grounds, where Emily was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Using the cabin's big windows and some creative flash work, we captured some stunning shots that set the tone for the day. We then moved on to Justin, who was getting ready with his groomsmen, sharing a few intimate moments with his parents before we depart for the first look. We made our way on top of a hill overlooking the forested mountains. Despite the rain, Emily and Justin were troopers, braving the elements and opting to ditch the umbrellas for these shots. And their genuine affection was evident for one another on their first look; undeterred by the weather. I personally love the shot with their family gathered in the background watching them from afar, as they share this intimate moment.

With the rain refusing to let up, the outdoor ceremony had to be relocated to Glasbern's Covered Wedding Pavilion. This was a cozy atmosphere with stunning views of the rain-kissed ponds down ahead of us. Emily and Justin's flexibility and resilience certainly added a touch of spontaneity to the day, making it all the more memorable.

As we explored the venue for photo opportunities for their bride and groom portraits, one standout moment was capturing the couple against a backdrop of cherry blossoms that were fashionably late to the spring season. The pink, late bloom added a touch of elegance to the scene, complemented by the gentle patter of raindrops.

We made our way back to the Grand Lodge, where a rustic stone fireplace kept us warm as the cocktail hour went on. The evening kicked off as the bride and groom shared a beautiful first dance together, followed by touching dances with Emily and her dad and Justin and his mom. From there, the night unfolded seamlessly with heartfelt speeches, lively dance floor moments, and the sweet cutting the cake. It was a celebration filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

In the end, Emily and Justin's wedding was a testament to the beauty of embracing the unexpected. Despite the rainy forecast, their day was filled with laughter, love, and spontaneous moments that made it truly unforgettable. As I looked through the photos, I couldn't help but be reminded that sometimes, the most beautiful moments happen when we least expect them.
